Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 12oz pack semi sweet chocolate chips (approx 2 cups)
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 375 F. In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. In large mixer bowl, combine butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (if using). Drop by rounded measuring tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 F for 9 to 11 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen 2 and 1/4 inch cookies.
